We are recruiting for a HR Officer to join our team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities aligned with the department's KPIs and the company's World Class vision. This role involves supporting management on various HR matters, including policy implementation, employee relations, end-to-end recruitment, and key projects.
This position requires managing multiple employee relations issues, so the successful candidate must be highly organized, approachable, empathetic, and precise, providing excellent support to line managers on complex issues with knowledge of current NI employment legislation. Hours Of Work
* Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00, 40 hours per week
Job Responsibilities
* Review, update, and communicate company policies in line with legislative changes, audit requirements, and business needs; incorporate into the company handbook as appropriate.
* Stay informed about employment law changes through seminars, legislation updates, and liaising with external agencies such as Croner, LRA, and EC.
* Maintain employee records using PAMS, ensuring all are current, including contracts and job descriptions.
* Manage staffing requirements, including recruitment, selection, and liaising with recruitment agencies.
* Support managers on employee relations and policies, including attendance, performance, disciplinary, grievances, health & wellbeing, and employee engagement.
* Assist with preparing reports for the annual equality commission and Article 55 as needed.
* Support H&S matters, including coordinating health surveillance.
* Maintain the company's Investors in People Platinum accreditation.
* Handle general HR administration and support payroll functions.
* Assist the HR Manager as required.
Essential Criteria
* 2-3 years HR generalist experience, ideally in manufacturing or construction
* Third-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., HRM, Business Studies)
* Knowledge of HR best practices and current employment law
* Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment
* Experience with employee relations issues such as disciplinary, grievances, and performance management
* Driven, with a strong work ethic and initiative
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
* Excellent IT skills
Desirable Criteria
* CIPD qualification or working towards it
* Knowledge of health & safety best practices
* Experience with shift working procedures
* Experience with PAMS HR software or similar
* Payroll experience
