"Learning Differently. Living Fully. Growing Futures."

Are you passionate about helping young people grow, learn, and thrive outside of the traditional classroom? Do you believe in the power of nature, animals, and creativity in education? If so, Stable Futures, part of Amegreen Children’s Services, invites you to apply for our unique Learning Mentor role.

This is more than just a job. It’s a mission to change lives.

Why Join Stable Futures?

Set on the boarder of rural West Berkshire/ Hampshire, Stable Futures offers a therapeutic, nature-based and animal-assisted learning environment for children and young people unable to access mainstream education. Our learners face a variety of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and we're here to provide hope, structure, and opportunity.

You'll work in small groups (max 4:1 ratio), supporting each child through a bespoke, hands-on curriculum that blends:

* Equine-assisted learning
* Small animal care
* Forest school activities
* Horticulture, bushcraft, art, and creative life skills
* PSHE and SEMH education
* Alternative curriculum sessions including careers, modern Britain, and well-being

Your Role as Learning Mentor

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

* Build strong, therapeutic relationships with young people as a consistent, compassionate adult figure
* Deliver tailored, engaging sessions across our alternative curriculum
* Support emotional development and resilience
* Role-model healthy boundaries and positive behaviour
* Contribute to a nurturing, creative, and trauma-informed educational environment
* Collaborate closely with our wider multidisciplinary team

What We’re Looking For

We want to hear from you if you are:

* Experienced in working with children and young people with SEMH or SEN needs
* Calm, creative, adaptable and confident in the outdoors
* Passionate about holistic, child-led education
* Able to plan and deliver engaging and meaningful activities (including PSHE/SEMH themes)
* Comfortable around animals and outdoor work
* A great communicator with a good sense of humour and professional resilience

Teaching qualifications (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have significant experience and a creative approach to alternative education.
