Subject Leader - Food Technology MPS / UPS + SEN Part Time 0.6FTE Required ASAP or to start Summer Term Following the successful appointment of a new Headteacher in September 2023, the school is currently undergoing a restructure and as such a variety of roles have become available. Cornfield is located in the seaside town of Littlehampton and has 77 students on role, aged between 8 and 16 who have Social, Emotional or Behavioural difficulties. We are looking to appoint a Subject Leader of Food Technology to start in as soon as possible. The successful applicant will work alongside our friendly and supportive team of professionals who put the students at the heart of what we do. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate robustness & resilience as the role can be extremely rewarding but very demanding. It is important to be able to maintain a level of calm and have excellent communication skills with both adults and young people. It is essential to have good organisational skills, the ability to multitask and act as a role model for students. The ideal applicant will have recent experience of working with children with SEN, however experience in Social, Emotional and Communication Difficulties would be advantageous. Management experience is also an advantage, as well as being able to demonstrate excellent classroom practice. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a good school (OFSTED June 2021) that focuses on supporting SEMH students to become more independent and provide them with skills and experiences that will enable them to be successful in life. This post would be suitable for experienced and recently qualified practitioners wanting to commit to working with challenging students.
