Head of Estates
Head of Estates – Kent - £55,000
The Job:
A senior operational leadership role responsible for the day to day management and performance of Estates and Facilities services across the College. Working under the Director of Estates and Risk Management, the postholder will ensure the delivery of a safe, efficient, and high performing estate that supports teaching, learning and the wider College Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the operational delivery of Estates and Facilities services, ensuring buildings and infrastructure effectively support teaching, learning, and curriculum needs across all sites
- Manage day to day estates operations, ensuring responsive systems are in place to resolve issues quickly and maintain efficient campus functionality
- Drive continuous improvement and service performance through KPIs, audits, compliance requirements, and alignment with College strategic objectives
- Lead and develop estates teams, including direct reports, ensuring strong performance management, capability development, and effective resource allocation
- Oversee budgets, financial governance, and resource planning while contributing to strategic estates input, sustainability, and commercial opportunities across College sites

A multi site further education college operating across Kent, delivering high quality education and training. The College is committed to maintaining a safe, modern and sustainable estate that supports curriculum innovation, student experience and long term strategic growth.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in estates, facilities, or property management within a complex multi site environment
- Strong leadership experience managing teams, performance and operational service delivery
- Good understanding of estates compliance, health and safety and facilities management best practice
- Experience managing budgets, resources and operational planning effectively
- Ability to influence stakeholders, support strategic planning and drive service improvement
The Package:
- £55,000 per annum DOE
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Full-time, 52 weeks per annum
- Based at Tonbridge campus with travel across all College sites
- Senior leadership role with operational responsibility across a multi-site estate

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
