The department includes lighters, modellers, animators, pipeline developers and producers in both onshore and offshore locations supporting global and local client needs. What does a Senior Houdini Developer do at Hogarth? Works closely with the Global Head of Pipeline in designing, implementing and overseeing visual effects systems and tools across all projects within Hogarth Worldwide. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless integration of VFX and dependent technology into our productions. Optimisation of workflow efficiency, identifying innovative tools and techniques, maintaining industry standards for quality and performance. Demonstrate technical expertise and a deep understanding of VFX Processes including USD, Omniverse & AI Reporting lines and key stakeholders This role reports to Global Head of Pipeline and will work closely with all our global CGI/VFX teams. Requirements Proficient with Houdini API and Hscript and software development for Houdini pipeline is a particular emphasis.Experience developing USD pipelines in Houdini and Solaris is crucial. VFX Software & Tools: A comprehensive understanding of industry standard VFX software and tools including Autodesk Maya, Nuke, Adobe After Effects and others is beneficial. Proficient enough in using these applications to converse effectively with stakeholders. Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in Python. Familiarity with common API and SDK’s with ability to learn quickly custom API concepts. Familiarity with Rez for package management, souec controls for Git and peer review and release workflow workflow for development. Adherence to ticketing processes in solutions such as JIRA for tracking and communication. Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and distributed computing and it’s application in scaleable rendering, devops and storage options Performance Optimisation: Understanding how to optimise render times, memory usage, and data transfer. Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication sills to effectively liaise with different teams, document tools for technical and non-technical audiences from VFX artists to production supervisors and IT departments. Time management, problem solving and troubleshooting.
