Job Title: Head of Estates Engineering Services
Salary: Up to £88,000 per annum with excellent benefits package
Job Description:
Lead the strategic direction of all aspects of engineering services, creating a culture of exceptional service delivery focused on enhancing the visitor experience.
The estate of the Royal Ballet & Opera comprises three sites: the main site in Covent Garden with a 2,000+ seated theatre dating from 1858, a redeveloped stage, and newly developed rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, workshops, offices, and ancillary spaces, completed in 1999, along with a second theatre and refreshed front-of-house spaces delivered via the Open Project in 2018. The Production Workshop and Costume Centre are located in Thurrock, Essex, and a 14,000m2 store in Aberdare, Wales.
These facilities support a complex production schedule and the work of thousands of staff, artists, and creative personnel to stage opera and ballet to exacting standards.
The Head of Estates Engineering Services will oversee the strategic planning and delivery of engineering services across all Royal Ballet and Opera sites. Responsibilities include building and fabric maintenance, utilities, installation, capital works engineering, and energy-saving and carbon-reduction projects.
We seek an individual with proven experience leading engineering services in a comparable, live operational estate. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills, with a proactive and engaging approach.
