Subscription Sales Executive
Part Time: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
1:30 PM – 6:30 PM
£18,000 OTE
Are you an experienced Subscription salesperson looking for a new challenge?
Do you have experience with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer? Have you got a proven track record? Can you spot and create opportunities? Are you an empathic relationship builder, able to handle objections with confidence and a strong closer? If so, we want to hear from you.
We are Newsquest Media Group, one of the UK’s leading publishers of local newspapers and magazines, and we’re on the hunt for an experienced and persuasive sales executive to join our dynamic internal sales team. You’ll be responsible for driving magazine subscriptions, promoting our home delivery service, identifying commercial partnerships and ensuring our community-led publications continue reaching loyal subscribers and outlets.
Key Responsibilities
* Sell and renew subscriptions via outbound telephone calls
* Retain customers through tailored solutions
* Overcome objections and close sales
* Build rapport with diverse customer types
* Promote journalism and media products
* Adapt the sales approach to customer needs
* Meet sales and retention targets
* Ensure company systems, policies, and compliance policies are adhered to
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Sales Experience – A minimum of 3 years of outbound telephone sales experience is essential.
* A background in subscriptions, publishing, or media is advantageous but not essential.
* Resilient & Persuasive – Confident handling objections and turning interest into sales.
* Strong Communicator – Builds rapport easily and adapts to different customer types.
* Media Passion – Enthusiastic about journalism and promoting meaningful content.
* Adaptable – Quick thinker who adjusts approach based on customer needs.
* Self-Motivated – Goal-driven with a proactive, results-focused mindset.
