My client is a civil engineering subcontractor seeking to onboard a site manager/agent for an ongoing infrastructure scheme in the West Midlands. The company operates across the UK, delivering projects in highways, rail, and infrastructure sectors.
Site Manager/Agent Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to value engineering and buildability of the project.
2. Agree on programmes and methods of construction with planners and production personnel.
3. Ensure resource requirements, production outputs, and overhead targets are established, monitored, and controlled.
4. Conduct constructive analysis of fully resourced programmes and produce operational target programmes aligned with the contract.
5. Lead short-term planning and communicate programmes to the site team and supply chain.
6. Manage and lead a team effectively.
7. Organize resources for the control and execution of works, including selecting subcontractors when necessary.
8. Secure materials and plant to meet specifications and schedules; manage wastage.
9. Ensure RAMS, ITPs, MARs are signed off before work begins; oversee testing regimes and inspection requests.
10. Manage permitting and approvals.
11. Identify and produce detailed temporary works designs and ensure their safe implementation.
12. Meet project quality standards and handover requirements; manage non-conformance reports.
13. Possess extensive civil engineering experience, especially in highways construction.
14. Understand and implement CDM Regulations.
15. Be knowledgeable about specifications and testing regimes for civil and highway works.
16. Produce RAMS, Task Briefing Sheets, and safe systems of work; understand safety, quality, and environmental systems.
17. Manage a small team using initiative; demonstrate good organizational skills.
Site Manager/Agent Requirements:
1. Right to work in the UK.
2. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
3. CSCS card (Gold, Black, or White).
4. SMSTS certification.
5. First aid certification.
6. Safety critical medical clearance.
7. Proven experience with highways and drainage projects.
8. Full UK driving license.
9. IT literacy.
10. Experience managing tight schedules confidently.
