We are seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support an individual who requires assistance due to a medical condition. The role focuses on supporting the individual to maintain independence, remain active in daily life, and improve overall quality of life within their home and community.Hours are flexible and will be discussed with the employer following interview. Availability is required Monday to Friday and will include afternoon work.Access NI check will be required. Access to a vehicle is preferable.
Responsibilities
* Provide supervision and prompting with personal hygiene tasks such as dressing and grooming
* Provide physical support with mobility when out in the community
* Assist with and attend appointments, helping to facilitate communication between the individual and service providers when required
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the individual by identifying and addressing potential hazards or risks in the environment
* Monitor the individual's health status and mood and report any changes or concerns to the employer
* Assist with daily living activities including household tasks and meal preparation
* Provide companionship and emotional support by listening to concerns and offering encouragement
* Encourage and motivate the individual to take part in daily activities and access the community
* Supervise and promote correct medication routines in line with prescribed schedules
Skills and Qualifications
* Able to demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach towards individuals facing challenges
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently
* Able to handle sensitive situations
* Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
* Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health needs
* Experience working with older people in a health or social care setting
* Relevant Health and Social Care qualifications in progress or completed
