Overview
IG Doors is seeking an experienced SAP VC & BDE Developer to support and enhance our SAP manufacturing and product configuration processes. The role will focus on the design, maintenance, and optimisation of BDE (Machine Data) and Variant Configuration (VC) within SAP to support complex product structures and configurable door manufacturing.
You will work closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and IT teams to ensure product data and configuration models accurately support operational requirements and enable efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop SAP Variant Configuration (VC) models for configurable door products.
* Design, implement, and maintain BDE data to support manufacturing and logistics processes.
* Translate engineering and product requirements into SAP configuration models, dependencies, and rules.
* Work with BOMs, routings, and material master data to ensure correct configuration logic and product structures.
* Analyse and resolve configuration errors impacting sales orders, production orders, and planning processes.
* Collaborate with product engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new configurable products and options.
* Support testing, validation, and documentation of configuration changes.
* Participate in SAP projects, upgrades, and system improvements related to product configuration and manufacturing.
* Provide user support and training for configuration-related processes.
* Ensure data integrity and best practices in SAP configuration design.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working with SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC or AVC).
* Strong understanding of Machine Data concepts in manufacturing environments.
* Experience with SAP PP, SD, and MM integration.
* Knowledge of BOM structures, routings, and configurable materials (KMAT).
* Experience in creating and maintaining:
o Characteristics and classes
o Configuration profiles
o Variant tables and constraints
* Ability to translate engineering/product requirements into SAP configuration logic.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment (ideally engineered-to-order or configurable products).
