Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the hospitality operations at Boho X and all hospitality staff. You will play a vital role in coordinating kitchen activities and ensuring the efficient production and delivery of high-quality meals to the Boho X building users. To supervise catering staff, stock, equipment and safety standards. To control menu planning, pricing and portion control. To contribute to the success of the canteen by creating a positive and productive work environment. We expect you to be punctual, organised, polite, enthusiastic and always work efficiently. Teamwork is of the utmost importance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily operations in the kitchen to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for the Boho X building users.
Manage kitchen and catering staff by providing clear direction, assigning tasks and conducting regular performance evaluations.
Develop and maintain standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in all food items served.
Monitor stock levels of food and supplies, place orders as needed and maintain accurate records to optimise cost control and minimise waste to ensure gross profit targets set by directors are met.
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and hygiene regulations, including receiving of deliveries, proper storage, handling, and labelling of food products.
Ensure all procedure and protocol that is venue specific and has been clearly defined is followed and adhered to by all staff and contractors.
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment and utensils to meet or exceed health and safety standards.
Create and update menus to ensure a balanced and nutritious offering for staff members, considering dietary restrictions or preferences.
Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and safety procedures to enhance their skills and maintain a high level of culinary expertise.
Team building and staff retention.
Develop personal manual skills and conduct research to better understand the role of the Kitchen Manager and to monitor trends and competition within the industry.
Work closely with all kitchen teams across the company and support other departments when necessary or requested to do so by directors.
Using kitchen equipment in a professional manner, ensuring safe use and appropriate maintenance.
Any administrative duties related to the successful running of the kitchen.
Assist directors in any way necessary.
