Job description
Location: Ravensdale Infant & Nursery School
Hours: 15 or 20 hours per week to be confirmed Monday – Friday (7am start to open up school)
Contract type: Non term time, job share, permanent
Closing Date: Monday 8th June 2026
Start date: September 2026
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, ambitious and inspirational site manager to join our successful team. You will work as a job share with our existing site manager, with the possibility of increased hours in the future.
This post is integral to our school and plays an important role in enhancing the teaching and working environment for children and staff.
Experience of working in educational environments and an understanding of health & safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments is desirable, but support and mentoring will be given to the suitable candidate.
With support, you will be responsible for the management of a small team of cleaning staff, security, maintenance, health & safety and cleanliness of the school premises and assisting with planned and reactive maintenance and day to day repairs within the reasonable capacity of a normal handyperson. You will need a flexible approach to your working hours, the ability to identify work priorities and manage your workload whilst ensuring that lower priority work is completed.
Please see for School Synopsis:
Ravensdale Infant and Nursery School is a larger than average infant and nursery school and the only one of its kind in the local area. We are a Local Authority School and work closely as a positive and supportive staff team alongside our parents and community. An important element of our school is to use the outdoor environment at every opportunity, to enhance and enrich our curriculum. We also believe that all children should become fluent, confident and enthusiastic readers whilst at our school. We are committed to developing the personal and social skills of all our children and offer therapeutic interventions to those who need them. These three ‘golden threads’ of reading, outdoor learning and personal development are woven through our planning and practice at every opportunity.
We have an exciting and forward-thinking approach to behaviour in school and all staff effectively use our relational behaviour policy, which makes a very happy and calm environment to learn and work.
Visits to our school site, or informal discussions are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Michelle Hoyle on 01332 513862 or email to arrange an appointment.
Ravensdale Infant and Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children and expects all staff to share in this. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online checks, completion of a probationary period, pre-employment and Disclosure Barring Service checks. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
