The Role
This is a stand-alone Site Manager position, reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing and coordinating specialist subcontractors
2. Liaising with clients, consultants, designers and neighbouring residents
3. Design coordination and reviewing drawings for potential issues
4. Producing short-term construction programmes
5. Managing health & safety including inductions and reviewing RAMS
6. Inspecting and signing off works to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements
7. Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and the local community
About you:
The client is seeking a well-rounded Site Manager capable of delivering projects independently from start to finish.
Ideal candidates will have:
8. Experience delivering projects from groundworks through to final finishes
9. The ability to run sites autonomously.
10. Experience coordinating with architects, engineers and designers
11. Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
12. Confidence working on projects that involve public interaction
Future projects could range from care homes and commercial schemes to heritage refurbishments, so versatility is essential.
Requirements:
13. CSCS Manager Card (Black) or CSCS Academically Qualified Person Card (White)
14. SMSTS
15. First Aid at Work
16. Experience producing programmes using software (Project Commander or similar)
17. Preferred background: A trade professional or site engineer that progressed into site management
Location & travel:
Candidates should ideally live within the M23–M3 corridor and be willing to travel 60–90 minutes to project sites across the South East.
