Job Opportunity: Cook in Charge –Tiled House Intermediate Care Home for older adults Location: Tiled House, 200 Tiled House Lane, Pensnett, Brierley Hill, DY5 4PA Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 Hours: 36 hours per week, (including alternative weekends and bank holidays) Contract Type: Permanent 7-day service coverage based on a fixed 2-week rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Enhancements paid for weekend and bank holiday shifts Five bank holidays per year are required to be worked, including two during the Christmas period. Flexibility and reliability are essential to ensure consistent service delivery across all scheduled days. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook in Charge to lead the kitchen team in our warm and welcoming Intermediate care home. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our service users' by providing nutritious, home-cooked meals in a caring environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences. Manage kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining food safety standards. Lead and support kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. Liaise with Senior/Care staff to accommodate individual dietary requirements and special occasions. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards. About You: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a care or healthcare setting. NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent (Level 3 desirable). Knowledge of dietary needs for older adults and those with specific health conditions. Strong leadership and communication skills. A genuine passion for cooking and caring for others.
