Job description
Prospero Teaching are looking for passionate and experienced Learning Mentors to support young people in the Bridport area. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering both part-time and full-time opportunities, with the chance to work with learners ranging from EYFS to Post-16.
You’ll be supporting young people who have often been out of school for a prolonged period, helping them re-engage with education-primarily in Maths and English. Many of the learners have additional needs, so a compassionate and adaptable approach is essential.
As a Tutor, you will:
1. Deliver tailored learning support in Maths and English
2. Work 1:1 or in small groups across a range of age groups
3. Build positive relationships to foster engagement and progress
4. Support learners with SEN, SEMH, trauma, or those at risk of exclusion
5. Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner development plans
About you:
We welcome applications from professionals with at least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as:

8. Cover Supervisor
9. Teaching Assistant
10. ELSA
11. 1:1 Support Worker
12. Or similar educational roles
Experience working with learners with additional needs is essential.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
14. Hold right to work in the UK
15. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
16. Provide references upon request
17. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
