The Role
Pollyteach is an established independent school and alternative provision for children (aged 8-16) with a range of special educational needs and learning disabilities. Our priority is to build trust with our students and provide a safe and supportive environment in which they can learn. Our curriculum includes GCSEs and vocational awards.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Learning Mentors to join our team. The role involves delivering high-quality sessions across core subjects and PSHE, as well as engagement activities like sport and art.
The successful candidate will be driven, passionate about quality education, and capable of engaging students. A calm, patient, and understanding nature is essential. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, requiring good written communication and IT skills.
While primarily based at our site in Retford, training and shadowing may occur at other sites, and travel across sites may be required. Candidates should have a relevant Level 2-3 qualification or be willing to work towards one.

Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
* Qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
* Experience working with children/young adults in education, youth work, or social work settings.
Working Hours and Location
Term-time (39 weeks): Typically Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:00 with a 30-minute flexible unpaid break. Additional hours may be required occasionally.
The role is based at one of our five sites in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Blidworth, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, or Mansfield, with possible travel between sites and outdoor/off-site engagement activities.
