Job Description
Employment Lawyer – 3-6 month FTC – Thames Valley. 6+ PQE.
Our client is a mid-market firm that is looking to engage an experienced Employment Lawyer on a 3-6 month contract, starting ASAP. The role will require 1-2 days per week in their Thames Valley office.
The employment team is ranked within the legal directories and they provide advice to industry clients on a full suite of employment law matters, spanning contentious, non-contentious and corporate support matters. The anticipated breakdown of the workload will be 40% contentious, 40% non-contentious and 20% corporate support work and will likely include the following duties:
1. Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and handbooks
2. Advising on the full range of employment issues including recruitment, discrimination, disciplinary and grievances, managing sickness absence, family rights and leave, contractual issues, unfair dismissal, redundancy and restructuring, whistleblowing and benefits
3. Drafting, advising on and negotiating settlement agreements for employer clients and individuals
4. Advising on potential employment disputes on behalf of both employees and employers, including advising clients on day-to-day commercial strategy
