Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for new Developer to join our IT team at Cambridge Education Group.
The role is on a full-time, permanent basis, Homebased United Kingdom.
Reporting to the App Dev Team Lead, the Developer role is primarily focused on working within the wider application development delivery team to provide new and enhanced capabilities to the CEG group of companies. This may be a relatively small self-contained project which the Developer works on by themselves or may be a more complex larger project which they work on with the wider team. The role is expected to be able to engage with non-IT stakeholders on the projects to understand the requirements for the project, to develop and test the solution prior to guiding the non-IT stakeholder through the acceptance testing of the work.
The team uses Agile delivery techniques, and the role will be expected to play a full part in all the aspects of the agile delivery process.
The application development delivery team also has responsibility to perform support to the existing services and as such, the role will be expected to undertake the investigation and resolution of issues raised by the stakeholders. Support tickets will be assigned to the role by the App Dev Team Lead and will be managed within the agile delivery methodology. Due to the high quality of work performed by the team, the level of support tasks is typically no more than 10% of the role’s duties.
Key responsibilities as a Developer:

Perform support of the application estate resolving Jira support tickets under the direction of the App Dev Team Lead. This will involve liaising with the relevant non-IT stakeholders to understand the issue, identifying the root cause and delivering a solution for the issue. The rectification of the issue may result in activities to resolve any data related issues caused by the support ticket.

Assist in the delivery of large solutions under the direction and guidance of the App Dev Team Lead.

Deliver defined enhancements or areas of the solution which are clearly defined and understood.

Assist in the testing of the solution liaising with non-IT staff to complete the delivery.
*
Liaise with non-IT stakeholders to help them perform their acceptance testing.
Key skills and experience we will be looking for:

Experience in working within a small team.
*
Experience in dealing with small groups or individuals outside of IT to confirm the solution and test the delivered service.
*
Experience in liaising with non-IT staff to understand their support issues and propose suitable solutions.
*
Extensive development experience in relevant technologies to deliver API services.
*
Extensive development experience of publish-subscribe services.
*
Extensive skills in C#, .Net, .Net Core and SQL Server
*
Database design and implementation skills
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills with both IT and non-IT staff.
*
Takes personal ownership.
*
Treats people with respect.
*
Strong communication.
*
Drives to complete the task fully.
