Employment Solicitor (NQ – 3 PQE) | No Billable Hours | Own Client Base
£40,000 – £50,000 | Chester / Onsite/Hybrid / Remote
Tired of timesheets and billable hour targets?
We’re doing things differently.
We’re looking for an Employment Solicitor (NQ – 3 years PQE) to join our growing team, advising employers only on a wide range of employment law matters.
This is a client-facing, commercially focused role where you’ll have real responsibility from day one — including your own client base.
What makes this role different?
* No billable hour targets
* Fixed-fee advisory model — focus on solutions, not time recording
* Your own clients from the outset
* Flexible working — Chester office, hybrid or fully remote
* Exposure to SMEs and well-known brands
* A fast-paced, modern consultancy environment
The Role
You’ll be advising employer clients on:
* Day-to-day HR and employment law issues
* Disciplinaries, grievances and performance management
* Redundancy and restructuring
* TUPE
* Discrimination and complex employee relations matters
* Supporting and defending Employment Tribunal claims
This is a respondent-focused position, so a commercial, solutions-driven mindset is essential.
What we’re looking for
* NQ – 3 years PQE in employment law
* Experience advising employers/respondents
* A pragmatic, commercial approach to problem solving
* Strong drafting and attention to detail
* Confident communicator with excellent client-facing skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Employment Tribunal experience is desirable, but not essential.
Why join us?
We’re entering an exciting growth phase and building a team of lawyers who want to move away from traditional private practice and focus on delivering practical, commercially driven advice.
If you want autonomy, flexibility and real client ownership — without the pressure of billable hours — this is the role for you
