As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Site Manager to join our team at our Dumfries location. The Site Manager at our Dumfries operation will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the site's daily operations. This includes vehicle intake, processing, storage, and preparation for online auction. The role will involve supervising a dedicated team of site operatives, ensuring that all processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations while striving for continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the Green Parts Specialists standard of excellence. Responsibilities Include: Operational Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dumfries site, ensuring that vehicles are processed efficiently and in line with company standards. Manage the intake, storage, and preparation of vehicles for online auctions, ensuring all vehicles meet the quality and regulatory standards for sale. Maintain site cleanliness, organization, and the proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Team Leadership & Development : Lead, motivate, and develop a team of site operatives, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement. Schedule and assign tasks, ensuring optimal site coverage while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training, guidance, and support to site staff. Health, Safety & Compliance : Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times. Regularly audit site operations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Maintain a safety-first culture, promoting and enforcing safe working practices among all staff. Inventory & Fleet Management : Oversee the management and tracking of vehicle inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and records of all vehicles entering and exiting the site. Ensure all vehicles are processed and stored in an organized manner to maximize space and operational efficiency. Customer Service & Stakeholder Communication : Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including handling any customer queries or issues professionally and promptly. Liaise with key clients, including insurance companies, banks, and automotive dealers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Reporting & Continuous Improvement : Prepare and submit regular performance reports to the Regional Operations Manager, highlighting key metrics and site performance. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies. Implement operational best practices to improve site performance. What we need from you: Essential : Proven experience in a managerial role within the automotive, logistics, or recycling industries, preferably within a fast-paced environment. Experience in managing a team and driving operational efficiency. WAMITAB qualification which ensures you have the necessary expertise in managing operations within a waste and recycling environment, understanding key regulatory and environmental compliance standards. Health & Safety Knowledge: Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to ensuring safe working practices on-site. NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar health and safety qualifications are advantageous. Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities with a focus on motivating and developing a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, customers, and senior management. Organisational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Proven ability to handle operational issues and make decisions quickly under pressure. IT Proficiency: Proficient in using computer systems and software related to inventory and reporting. Desirable : Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.
