Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead our onsite construction team, collaborating with external partners, subcontractors, and the onsite sales team on high‑volume new‑build housing developments.
Responsibilities
As a proactive leader, you will reinforce directions set by the Contracts manager and Construction Director, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
* Managing the development to maintain and deliver the build programme in accordance with budgets and forecasts, ensuring the final product meets Gleeson Homes standards.
* Full responsibility and control of all site staff and subcontractors, including labour‑only groundworkers/contractors, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
* Liaising with head office, NHBC and local authority departments.
* Timely ordering of materials to support the build programme.
* Ensuring all NHBC inspections are carried out as required.
* Conducting hand‑over inspections of properties to customers following our customer care procedures.
* Completion of customer care defects as soon as practicable with the customer care team.
* Actively promoting a philosophy of safety, progress, quality and innovation.
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience as a Site Manager on high‑volume new‑build housing developments, with extensive knowledge of managing labour‑only groundworkers/contractors.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Excellent knowledge of construction build programmes.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes.
* Experience of successfully achieving customer service requirements.
* Awareness of codes of practice such as NHBC, Building Regulations, etc.
* Mandatory ability to use Zutec and Digital plot books.
Qualifications & Training
* SMSTS Qualification.
* CSCS Card.
* First Aid.
* Fire Marshall.
* Scaffolding.
