Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee and enhance quality assurance processes across our South West manufacturing sites. This role is vital in ensuring all activities meet or exceed customer expectations and align with international quality system standards. You will lead audit and accreditation functions, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support a high-performing quality culture across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure all South West site activities meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations. There are two larger sites located together and 3 smaller sites located close by.
* Lead and manage business policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with ISO9001, AS9100, ISO45001, and ISO14001
* Organise and maintain audit programs and certification processes across sites and the supply chain
* Drive process improvement through audit findings and corrective action verification
* Act as a point of contact for customers, auditors, and regulators, maintaining effective communication and reporting systems
* Conduct thorough investigations into major quality concerns, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Oversee Customer Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions
* Define, justify, and monitor departmental budgets
* Coordinate test and data support activities for customer product approvals (e.g., IMDS, PPAP)
* Update and control business systems and procedures to meet compliance and certification standards
* Coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performing quality team and continuous improvement culture
* Deliver technical expertise, mentoring the quality and broader management teams
* Manage internal and supplier audit resources and activities
* Conduct staff appraisals and define development and training plans
* Analyse and report quality performance metrics regularly
* Ensure adequate training and development of employees
* Review and implement customer, legislative, and accreditation requirements
* Advise on changes to customer or stakeholder expectations
* Collaborate with EMEA and Global Quality teams to share best practices
What We’re Looking For:
* A strong leader with experience in quality systems and continuous improvement
* A confident communicator who can engage with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
* A collaborative individual with the ability to coach, mentor and influence across all levels
Key Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 5 years as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment
* In-depth knowledge and experience managing ISO9001, AS9100, ISO14001 systems
* Lead Auditor qualification (ideally in IATF16949 or AS9100)
* Proven experience managing audits and maintaining business system approvals
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* High level of numeracy and analytical ability
* Full driving licence
* IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General (preferred)
