Context: Commerce and Monetization
The monetization and billing ecosystem is a foundational pillar of the business. It enables subscription management, invoicing, payments, tax handling, and revenue recognition across the product suite. Zuora sits at the heart of this system—serving as the engine that powers commercial operations.
Team Composition
You will be joining the Commerce Platform team, a cross-functional group focused on designing, implementing, and evolving subscription and billing infrastructure. This includes everything from product catalog management and pricing logic to invoice generation, revenue reporting, and integrations with external systems. The team collaborates closely with Product, Finance, and other engineering teams.
We’re looking for a Senior Zuora Developer/Engineer to bring deep technical expertise in Zuora’s ecosystem and integration options, design scalable solutions, and guide critical modernization efforts.

Your First Project: Workday Integration & RevPro Modernization
Finance teams rely on accurate, timely data to manage invoicing, payments, and revenue recognition across multiple systems. You will lead the design and implementation of new integrations between Zuora and Workday to support real-time or near-real-time syncing of:
* Billing Account data and Invoices, Credit memos, Payments, Refunds
Additionally, you’ll work to modernize the RevPro journal outbound flow, evolving it from a slow and fragile monthly batch process to a daily or event-based integration with Workday, improving data availability and reducing reconciliation issues.
You will:
* Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and RevOps teams to map and validate business processes across systems.
* Design scalable and auditable workflows using Zuora Workflow, REST APIs, and custom integration services.
* Lead technical implementation with a focus on resilience, observability, and maintainability.
* Establish best practices for future system integrations, aligning with Finance and Engineering data governance standards.
This is a high-impact initiative critical to revenue operations, and a key opportunity to establish engineering standards for financial system integrations.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Senior Zuora Developer/Engineer who is:
* Deeply experienced in Zuora platform architecture, data models, workflows and integration patterns.
* Proactive in identifying process gaps and driving end-to-end automation.
* Skilled in building resilient and auditable billing processes that scale.
* Analytical and able to navigate billing edge cases and integration challenges.
* A strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Product, and other Engineering teams.
Must-haves
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with Zuora platform, including Z-Billing, Workflows, Product Catalog, Zuora REST API, and Data Query.
* Proven experience designing and implementing custom workflows and automations in Zuora.
* Solid understanding of subscription lifecycle management, invoicing, usage-based billing, billing account management, and payment flows.
* Experience integrating Zuora with other systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake, internal data lakes).
* Familiarity with source control, CI/CD, and environment management best practices for enterprise systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-haves
* Experience with Zuora CPQ, Revenue Recognition, or Finance modules.
* Familiarity with broader quote-to-cash ecosystems including Salesforce, Workday, Chargebee and/or Adyen/Stripe.
* Experience building event-driven architectures or integrating with message queues (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to billing systems (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
* Experience working in high-scale SaaS environments with complex pricing and packaging logic.
* Background in finance-oriented engineering, such as auditability, reconciliation, and ledger alignment.
