About the role
Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Quality Manager to join our Power team based regionally covering the North East of England.
Within this role you'll drive a Right First Time culture by managing the planning, coordination, submission and compliance of all assurance activities, the resolution of assurance related issues, and ensuring the implementation of quality management processes and improvement initiatives
What you'll be doing
As a Quality Manager you'll:
* Develop – and manage to completion – aspects of the local Quality Strategy, under the direction of the Senior Quality Manager / Head of Quality
* Manage the allocation, coordination, retention and succession of Quality resources to support delivery teams in implementing processes and digital systems as part of the Quality Management System.
* Ensure the customer requirements are clearly understood and that quality control mechanisms are in place that provide assurance that the asset and/or service delivers as designed/required.
* Ensure the successful planning and delivery of project quality handover and/or business quality management deliverables.
* Undertake or direct investigations of high-risk quality-related issues as required.
* Manage annual inspection and audit programmes as required, lead local and supplier audits in line with programme objectives, and support with BB and external audits.
* Carry out reviews into Quality performance relating to agreed business or project KPIs, defining additional measures to meet customer requirements as required, and report results to local leadership.
* Manage quality development and training programmes for business / project teams and local quality resources.
* Manage the implementation of annual ISO9001 Management Review(s).
* Support work winning and bid support for the operational teams, where required.
Who we're looking for
You'll have/be:
* Demonstrable subject matter expertise in Quality Management, including methodologies, tools and applications.
* Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction or Manufacturing (relevant industry).
* CQI Chartered Member (MCQI).
* ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor trained.
* Confident and resilient when working with project leaders.
* Gathers, analyses and evaluates facts whilst remaining objective and impartial in all scenarios and tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively and build influential relationships with a variety of stakeholders (quality and non-quality).
* Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking.
* Ability to manage a team.
* A working knowledge of information management and change management
principles.
