We are currently seeking a highly organised, professional and proactive HR Officer to join a prestigious Independent School in Westminster. About the Role As the HR Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school’s HR function. Working closely with the HR Manager and senior leadership team, your responsibilities will include: • Managing day-to-day HR administration and processes • Supporting recruitment across teaching and support staff positions, including advertising, shortlisting and interview coordination • Overseeing onboarding and compliance, including DBS checks, references and Right-to-Work documentation • Maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR) and ensuring safeguarding compliance • Managing staff contracts, variations and HR-related documentation • Supporting absence management, return-to-work meetings and HR queries • Maintaining accurate HR records and supporting digital systems • Supporting staff induction, CPD tracking and appraisal processes • Contributing to wider HR projects and policy updates The role requires a professional, discreet and confident individual with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience and Qualifications • Previous experience working in HR, ideally within an education or independent school setting • Strong understanding of HR processes, safer recruitment and compliance • Excellent administrative, IT and organisational skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information • CIPD Level 3 (or willingness to complete) is desirable • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach Salary Competitive salary based on experience and the Independent School support staff pay scale.
