Overview
My client are a leading designer and manufacturing of injection moulded products for the UK and European markets. For the last 60 years, this business has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing processes within their sector and supply several brands recognised across the world. As a privately owned business, they have a proud record of enhancing and developing their staff through training and have promoted many individuals through the system to the roles they sit in today.
Responsibilities
* Record data for the site quality measures in order to drive improvement projects through the application of continuous improvement methodologies, quality control techniques and training.
* Work as part of the site operations management team responsible for the quality performance of the site and in supporting the manufacturing / operations activities.
* Manage the UK ISO9001:2015 certification ensuring process and procedures are in place and complied with to ensure ongoing compliance to the standard.
* Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current health and safety legislation (HASAW Act 1974).
* Manage customer complaints & returns in a correct and timely manner and to ensure feedback is given and the learning's from this process are feed into production, and 8D & NCs completed.
* Work with the site team to ensure processes, products made, are to the correct quality and in line with the customers' expectations.
* Improve the cost of quality through the analysis of recorded quality data, production scrap and the use of data gained from process capability studies, thus driving continuous improvement projects.
* Ensure all quality documentation, measuring and checking equipment and master samples required for production are identified and in good working order prior to any production.
* Manage a register of calibrated equipment, fixtures, jigging, gauging and JIS's that are required in order to manufacture a part that meets the customer's requirements.
* Manage a process of new part introduction / part changes to approval thus supporting PPAP approvals and SRTD's and capability and measurement studies.
Qualifications
* 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the injection moulding manufacturing sector.
* Demonstrated knowledge and technical skill set, particularly in delivering against KPI's based on Cost of Quality, RFT, OEE and Returns.
