This national role will suit an experienced Refrigeration Engineer who our client can engage to look after its interests during the installation and modification of refrigeration plant.
Main Responsibilities
* Management of site works to ensure a safe, coordinated, and a professional working environment.
* Co-ordination and direction of sub-contractors and our clients personnel carrying out the installation and modification of electrical and mechanical systems.
* Maintain high standards of on-site documentation with regard to CDM, health and safety at work act, operatives training, site equipment testing, review and acceptance of Safe System of Work (SSOW) etc.
* Control and disseminate documentation such as specifications, schematics, diagrams, layouts, ensuring operatives are working to the latest and most relevant data.
* To liaise with the main contractor/end user to program the site work in a safe manner in accordance with CDM Regulations and safe working practices.
* To assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning of chillers, primary refrigeration plant, electrical systems, secondary refrigeration systems and associated equipment in a safe manner.
* To attend site meetings with Main Contractor or End User to represent with regard to planning works and to monitor progress against program.
* To check project documentation to ascertain the scope of the works and to liaise with the Project Manager and Engineering design departments to meet the agreed installation program.
* To report any safety issues, material deficiencies, defects and omissions to the Project Engineer / Contracts Manager.
* Undertake site-based safety audits, ensuring open actions are closed out in a timely manner
* Carry out hands on works such as pressure testing, glycol draining and charging, evacuation, refrigerant charging, and commissioning assistance.
Our Ideal Candidate
* Has the ability to plan work, and co-ordinate teams of people
* Experience with the installation and mechanical / electrical installation of Industrial refrigeration systems.
* Knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety regulations. (Training can be given)
* Knowledge of CDM, Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and relevant EC Directives (Pressure Equipment Directive, Machinery Safety Directive, ATEX Directive, Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive) (Training will be given as required).
* Knowledge and experience of latest Electrical Safety Regulations for control and power circuit’s 110v & 415v.
* Working knowledge of PC and PLC based controls and instrumentation.
* Willing to travel UK and work away from home.
* Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification
