Our advanced manufacturing site in Brackley is a major processing facility with over 700 employees, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and leading in fresh foods. We recently invested £11 million in technology and amenities, making it one of the UK’s most advanced food manufacturing facilities.
About The Role
Are you passionate about Employee Relations? Looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience in a manufacturing/production HR environment? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, growing operation?
As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we value our HR approach and seek a highly competent and motivated HR Officer to join our HR team at the Brackley site.
This role is primarily office-based but may require visits to the factory environment. Working hours are Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00, with flexibility needed for twilight shifts (minimum once a week).
Key Responsibilities
As a HR Officer, you will serve as a business partner within the Human Resources Team, developing effective partnerships with managers and colleagues to provide timely, professional HR advice in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Employee Relations
* Manage Employee Relations activities within designated areas, providing HR advice on disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues.
* Support managers during disciplinary, grievance, and appeal hearings, including investigations and note-taking.
* Lead regular meetings with stakeholders to address upcoming issues.
* Ensure managers are aware of and apply company policies fairly and consistently, in line with legislation.
* Recommend process and practice improvements.
Absence Management
* Apply attendance policies consistently and robustly.
* Provide guidance on absence cases, liaising with Occupational Health Advisors as needed.
* Assist managers in meeting KPIs for reducing absence levels.
Headcount/Recruitment
* Work with managers to manage staffing requirements and review roles according to succession plans.
* Coordinate with the Resourcing Team to recruit efficiently.
* Assist in recruiting skilled and managerial roles.
Training Delivery
* Help deliver in-house management training.
* Support HR Manager in delivering Human Rights and Ethics training.
* Provide ongoing coaching to managers on employment law and policies.
Communication / Engagement
* Manage KPI reporting and communication.
* Act as a point of contact for colleague queries, referring to relevant processes.
* Support community initiatives.
Essential Requirements
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
* CIPD qualification or part-qualified at Level 5.
* Experience in HR within a manufacturing or fast-paced environment.
Desirable
* Graduate degree in business or HR-related discipline.
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Drive for performance improvement and innovation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software.
* Methodical with attention to detail and pace.
* Strong relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle conflict.
* Effective time management and prioritization.
