Chef / Cook (Part-Time)
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am – 2:00pm
Location: LEEDS 5
We are seeking an experienced and committed Chef / Cook to support the delivery of our community-based Lunch Clubs, Coffee Mornings, and Breakfast Clubs as part of our Neighbourhood Network Scheme. This is an exciting opportunity to join a valued local charity, dedicated to improving the wellbeing of older people through food, friendship, and social connection.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
•Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals tailored to the needs of older people
•Undertake weekly shopping and manage food supplies effectively and within budget
•Ensure the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen, including a scheduled weekly deep clean
•Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager to maintain and develop the service
•Comply with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
Personal Capabilities and Qualities
•Proven experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a community, social care, or catering setting
•Ability to plan menus that are nutritious, varied, and cost-effective
•Strong organisational and time management skills
•Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
•A community-minded approach, demonstrating empathy, respect, and a commitment to supporting older people
•Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude
