As Interim HR Manager, you will provide essential HR leadership, ensure legal compliance, and guide the business through a complex transitional phase. This role requires a highly capable, hands-on HR professional who can quickly assess the landscape, make informed decisions, and deliver both strategic and operational HR support with minimal handover. Key Responsibilities - HR Leadership & Strategy Provide expert HR leadership during a period of organisational change and transformation. Advise senior leaders on HR strategy, workforce planning, and organisational development. Identify risk areas and implement improvement plans to ensure stability and compliance. Employee Relations & Compliance Ensure full compliance with employment law, HR best practice, and statutory requirements. Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, restructures, and consultations. Act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related issues, resolving matters swiftly and effectively. Policy, Contract & Framework Review Review, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and contracts of employment. Strengthen HR frameworks to support a compliant, scalable, and future-proof HR function. Introduce best-practice HR processes for onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and retention. Change & Transformation Support Provide guidance and support through organisational restructuring, redesign, or cultural transformation. Work closely with managers to support change initiatives and ensure clear communication across the business. Maintain employee engagement and morale throughout periods of uncertainty. Operational HR Management Deliver day-to-day HR support across the full employment lifecycle. Oversee HR administration, reporting, and documentation. Mentor and support managers to enhance people management capability. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as an HR Manager, ideally in an interim or transformation-focused role. Strong HR generalist background with hands-on operational capability. Deep understanding of UK employment law, HR risk, statutory compliance, and best practice. Demonstrated experience supporting organisations through change, restructuring, or transition. Confident, autonomous decision-maker with the ability to operate with minimal handover. Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills. Resilience, discretion, and professionalism in high-pressure and sensitive environments.
