Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or Equivalent
2. State Registration - Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
3. Qualification in Quality or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
4. Management training/advanced technical expertise
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
5. Experience of participation in inspections for laboratory accreditations (UKAS ISO 15189)
6. Experience of planning and carrying out audits
7. Training of Scientists and/or screeners
Desirable criteria
8. Supervising/managing a team
9. Proven knowledge of Quality Management systems, e.g. Q-pulse
Skills, abilities and attributes
Essential criteria
10. Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate with patients and staff at all levels of the organisation with tact and diplomacy
11. Excellent motivational skills
12. Excellent organisational and time management skills
13. Considerable IT and keyboard skills with a comprehensive working knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
