West Riding FA is seeking to appoint two Part-Time Coach Developers to strengthen and support the volunteer coaching workforce at the heart of grassroots football.
This is a hands-on, pitch-based role. The successful candidates will work within clubs across the county, engaging directly with coaches during evening training sessions and weekend matchdays. Your contribution will help coaches build confidence, enhance their practice, and create positive, enjoyable environments for players.
About the Role
As Coach Developers, you will:
• Deliver high-quality CPD opportunities tailored to the needs of grassroots coaches.
• Facilitate peer learning and create collaborative spaces for sharing experiences and best practice.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring and reflective support to develop confidence and competence.
• Assist with coach deployment across England Accredited Clubs, clusters, and priority areas, including Women & Girls, disability football, low socio-economic communities, and underrepresented groups.
• Deliver workshops such as Stepping Over the Sideline and other FA development initiatives.
• Work closely with the Regional Coach Development Manager to ensure alignment with The FA's national strategy.
Candidate Profile

• Experienced in football coaching and/or coach development.
• Skilled in mentoring, safeguarding, and supporting volunteers.
• Passionate about grassroots football and committed to inclusion and widening participation.
• Flexible and able to travel across the county, with most work taking place during evenings and weekends.
• Strong communicators who can build positive relationships with clubs, coaches, and volunteers.
