As Events Manager, you will be responsible for the successful event planning and overall execution of all Conference & Events within the hotel. The Events Manager will interact frequently with customers and Guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships to earn repeat and expanded business.
What will I be doing?
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Maximise all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through upselling of function items
* Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are in place, including building relationships with new/existing customers to secure rollover business
* Manage the department’s day-to-day operations and activities, implementing the selling strategy to fill meetings and events space
* Ensure the Meeting & Events Team Members are developed effectively and foster a culture of high standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
* Build strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members to understand their needs and serve them effectively
* Accurate administration and control of all Meetings and Events reservations and blocks
* Ensure Function Sheets are handed over weekly to Food and Beverage Operations, with accurate and confirmed details and billing information in line with credit policy
* Meet & Greet nominated conference contacts or organizers to check satisfaction and setup on the event day
* Conduct show rounds for companies & agents in line with company policy
* Support Food & Beverage operations and room reservations teams with required information
* Relay information to Chef and Operations Team timely for ordering and staffing
* Attend sales events as required
* Support other properties within the cluster as needed
* Review business plans, identify gaps, and proactively work to fill capacity and meet targets
* Contribute to the hotel’s selling strategy and ensure departmental adherence to it
* Raise invoices for Events based on quotations, and forward with backup documentation for prompt payment
* Understand the competitive marketplace and implement strategies to keep the hotel ahead in the local market
