Profile
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality activities (QC and QA) related to sourcing, manufacturing, testing, and quality release of materials from the Girvan site. This includes managing staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and reliability testing for the organization's products and development processes.
They advise and support management and local departments in maintaining and improving the Food Safety & Quality System, site GMPs, and operating standards.
The Quality and Regulatory Manager reports to the Site Manager, with a dotted line to the QFS Lead.
Responsibilities
General
* Ensure 100% compliance with site and Corporate safety, environmental, and ethical policies.
* Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvements in systems, processes, and people development through setting and managing annual objectives, KPIs, and remedial actions.
* Oversee induction/training programs for site hygiene, food safety, and GMPs to ensure product and service quality.
Management of Quality (Quality Systems, Products, and Processes)
* Responsible for oversight of Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities on site.
* Manage the company's Quality system, policies, and practices to ensure ISO9001, FSSC22000, and GMP compliance.
* Maintain contact with authorities regarding food safety and regulatory compliance.
* Perform management and product reviews as required by certifications and customer needs.
* Manage internal audit systems, audit programs, and site visits and audits by customers and regulators.
* Approve SOPs and controlled documents.
* Manage incidents, crises, customer and supplier complaints, and related investigations and corrective actions.
* Maintain documentation for customers and suppliers.
* Conduct risk assessments for suppliers and contract manufacturers, including foreign supplier verification, and support audits.
* Assist the Technical team with customer information requests.
* Manage non-conformances, containment actions, root cause analysis, and effectiveness verification.
* Ensure maintenance and calibration of critical measuring equipment.
* Coordinate QC activities related to incoming and outgoing products.
* Collaborate with Product Management & Technical Support on technical issues and business opportunities.
Regulatory
* Coordinate with the regulatory team on regulatory topics.
* Ensure legal compliance with all regulatory requirements related to Quality, Food Safety, and Pharmaceutical excipient GMPs.
* Keep colleagues updated on new regulatory legislation and guidelines.
* Handle declarations related to regulatory status within the scope of the role.
