Overview
Learning Mentor Vacancy at Dorset Council UK. Based in rural West Dorset on a 30-acre care farm, supporting young people and delivering positive outcomes through a farm-based learning and therapeutic approach.
Hours: 30 to 37 hours per week. The role can be offered as full time, part time (minimum of 30 hours) or term time only, with some flexibility over hours for the right candidate. Salary range: £14 to £15.50 per hour.
We are seeking someone with demonstrable experience working with children and young people, who has an affinity with the outdoor environment and animals, and who can contribute to our expanding team.
Responsibilities
* Support young people and help deliver positive outcomes through learning and therapeutic activities in a farm environment.
* Engage with schools and Local Authority Children’s Services as part of the programme.
* Contribute to the welfare and safety of animals used in educational activities.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience working with children and young people.
* Affinity with outdoor environments and animals.
* Ability to commit to flexible hours and a varied schedule as needed.
