Live-in Housekeeper/Cook Job in Wiltshire
We have a fantastic position working for a single principal at his beautiful 2,000 acre estate in Wiltshire. This is a weekend residence, and the client resides in London during the week. The main property has 7 bedrooms. The client has 3 grown-up children who will visit on occasion and 2 dogs. Also employed are two daily cleaners, a gardener, estate manager and other general estate staff.
We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper/Cook who is discreet, organised, professional, a good communicator and is a team player. You must be happy to work over the weekends, although some weekends you will only be required for a few hours a day to keep things ticking over.
Duties to include:
1. Keeping the house clean and tidy
2. Laundry and ironing
3. Shopping and running errands
4. Preparing simple meals for the principal when he is in residence (Fridays to Mondays)
5. Preparing meals for when the principal has guests at the weekends
6. Front of house duties (greeting guests, serving drinks etc)
7. Some driving duties & running errands
8. Some Dog care usually handled by estate manager and other staff members but to be on hand
9. Maintaining and managing the wine cellar
10. Laying fires
11. Occasional help in the garden if the person is green-fingered
12. House and pet sitting when the principal is away shared with other staff
Start date: As soon as the right person is found
Accommodation: a 3-bedroom detached cottage about a 5 minute walk from the main house. partners will be considered and pets
Working days: 5 days a week to include weekends. Tuesdays & Wednesdays off. When the principal is away, you can take weekends off.
Salary £45,000 - £50,000 Negotiable, depending on experience.
