Site Manager – Fit-Out / Construction

Role Overview
This is a site-based Site Manager role delivering high-quality fit-out works within a live construction environment. The position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, programme delivery and coordination of subcontractors through to practical completion and handover.
You will work closely with the wider project team, client representatives and supply chain partners to ensure works are delivered in line with contractual, technical and health & safety requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage and administer subcontractor packages in accordance with contractual obligations.
* Oversee fit-out works from construction through to completion and handover, ensuring a consistently high standard of finish.
* Coordinate multiple subcontractors on site, managing interfaces and sequencing of works.
* Carry out regular site inspections to ensure Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are implemented and adhered to.
* Record, manage and close out defects and snagging using digital site management systems.
* Ensure all works comply with legal, project-specific and health & safety requirements.
* Monitor subcontractor performance against quality, safety and programme benchmarks.
* Track progress against the agreed baseline programme and identify risks or delays early.
* Identify, mitigate and support the resolution of potential variations or claims.
* Ensure accurate site records, reports and documentation are maintained and issued in line with project requirements.
* Chair and coordinate site meetings, issuing clear and accurate minutes and actions.
* Support completion, commissioning and close-out activities to ensure a smooth handover to the client.
* Actively promote best practice, continuous improvement and a positive site culture.
* Provide regular progress and performance reports to the Project Management team.
Person Specification
Experience
* Proven experience in site-based construction management roles.
* Strong understanding of fit-out and/or building works within complex construction environments.
* Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages.
* Ability to monitor site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
* Confident in maintaining site records, progress reporting and supporting project controls.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, programme-driven environment.
* Typically 3–5 years’ experience in a Site Manager or similar role (desirable).
Qualifications & Health & Safety
* HNC/HND in Construction or equivalent experience.
* SMSTS certification.
* First Aid qualification.
* Valid CSCS card.
* Full UK driving licence (desirable).
