Catering Manager
Band 8A, Full Time, Permanent
The catering service employs over 100 staff, produces over 10,000 meals weekly, and manages an annual budget exceeding £2M.
The role involves working with clinical and non-clinical staff across all Trust sites, collaborating with suppliers, contractors, and external agencies such as Environmental Health and Trading Standards.
Interview Date - TBC
* Develop and strengthen relationships with clinical teams and departments, promoting the role of catering services and building confidence in food services within the Trust.
* Act as a role model for professional behaviour and inter-professional relationships, handling complex, sensitive information appropriately.
* Ensure effective communication through various channels, overcoming barriers due to cultural and language differences.
* Negotiate and persuade to communicate service changes to staff, facilitating modernization efforts.
* Coordinate with external agencies to ensure compliance with food safety legislation.
* Oversee delivery of catering services for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to HACCP and Trust policies.
* Develop long-term strategies for workforce and service configuration to meet future needs.
* Plan and review patient menus in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet nutritional standards and compliance requirements.
* Implement systems for effective staff deployment and service resilience.
* Establish robust continuity plans and conduct risk assessments.
* Provide patient and customer-centered services, contributing to the overall patient experience and exploring new service models.
* Support PLACE assessments and processes.
* Develop quality monitoring systems to maintain high standards and proactively manage performance variances.
* Handle complaints and conflicts from patients, staff, and partners promptly and appropriately.
