Job Description

People (HR) Administrator - Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Leave Cover)

We’re looking for a proactive and organised People (HR) Administrator to join our friendly and supportive People Services team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment, takes pride in providing high-quality support, and wants to make a positive difference to the colleague experience.

Working at Bournemouth & Poole College, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle, supporting a range of HR activities and helping to deliver a professional, responsive service to colleagues across the College.

Whether you’re developing your HR career or bringing strong administrative experience into a people-focused role, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills in a supportive and collaborative team.

About the role

As a key member of our People Services team, you’ll be at the heart of our People Services operations, providing high-quality administrative support and frontline advice to colleagues across the college.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our HR processes run smoothly, including:

* Acting as the first point of contact for HR enquiries
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
* Maintaining accurate HR records and systems
* Coordinating safer recruitment checks (including DBS and referencing)
* Supporting payroll, compliance and reporting activities
* Helping to deliver an efficient and customer-focused People Service

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

* Has experience in a busy administrative or customer-focused role
* Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Is confident working with data, systems and processes
* Can manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
* Communicates clearly and builds positive working relationships
* Is professional, proactive and keen to learn

Experience in HR or an education setting would be beneficial, but not essential, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career or develop knowledge of the FE sector.

Why join us?

* Gain valuable experience across the full HR lifecycle
* Work in a supportive and collaborative team environment
* Develop your skills and build your HR career
* A varied role where no two days are the same
* Be part of an organisation that values people and inclusion
* Competitive benefits including generous leave
