JOB TITLE: Food Technologist
DEPARTMENT: Technical
REPORTS TO: Technical Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A
MAIN PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Technical Manager provide technical support to the company, liaising with customers on technical requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS:
CUSTOMER
1. Complete customer requests in a timely and organised manner.
2. Investigate customer complaints and complete monthly or quarterly KPI report.
3. Review customer portals at least on a weekly frequency and ensure alerts are responded to.
HEALTH & SAFETY
1. Maintain standards of health and safety and compliance to all appropriate legislation, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
2. Highlight and report any hazards, near misses and accidents.
3. Works and challenges others to work in a safe and responsible manner.
TECHNICAL
1. Provide technical Support to the company and all customers within reasons of the role.
2. Assist in the development/maintenance of company policies in line with new legislation, customer requirements or company standards.
3. Assist the technical manager during customer audits and visits, including during third party inspections, or lead these.
4. Assist the technical manager during customer KPI reviews, and in the tasks associated with this to ensure completion and customer satisfaction.
5. Keep abreast of legislation to ensure company compliance and communicate any changes internally.
6. Assist in the benchmarking of products to ensure technical compliance to specification.
7. Work closely with NPD and Commercial to integrate with the NPD launch process to ensure successful product launches.
8. Ensure new products are analysed according to customer requirements for nutrition and shelf life.
9. Completion of Quality Attribute sheets and any other technical documentation required by the customer, or the business.
10. Assist in the update and maintenance of Unity to ensure technical information is available for all products.
11. Attend and assist with development and PPR trials.
12. Manage objectives set by the technical manager and ensure completion within the timescales provided.
