FW Materials Developer II - ACG

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner with the WHQ Material Development Community and the PCC (Product Creation Center)/Factory material team to provide transparency when issues or concerns arise. You will collaborate on resolutions and serve as the primary contact for vendors regarding material-specific issues such as price, technical specs, and performance. Additionally, you will work with the product creation team, innovation, and sourcing to provide training, education, and standard methodologies to enable informed decision-making.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced Material Developer II in PMO to help differentiate ACG products in the marketplace through materials excellence. You will provide tools, palettes, and data across multiple material types to enable effective material selection and ease of use. You should present facts and solutions clearly, keeping product creation and consumer needs in mind, to facilitate informed decisions.
* Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemistry, or a related field, or two additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
* Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in consumer product and/or footwear manufacturing
* Educational background or working experience & knowledge in materials, manufacturing, and creation
* Preferred knowledge of textile engineering/construction, synthetic and natural leather, sustainable materials, and waterproof materials for outdoor shoes
* Experience working with material suppliers regarding technical/testing/support and communication on behalf of Nike’s needs
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to articulate goals and objectives effectively
* Willingness to travel overseas
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
* Drive adherence to the product creation calendar to ensure seasonal materials are developed, tested, and commercialized on time
* Manage the materials creation process from concept to commercialization and production, ensuring timely delivery and meeting sustainability, performance, and profitability goals
* Lead projects and facilitate communication among different teams
* Create and maintain documentation for assigned materials, including product specs and prototypes
* Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping; identify and address manufacturing issues to deliver tested materials
* Monitor and communicate testing challenges to meet material integrity requirements
* Stay updated on market trends, new technology, and consumer preferences
* Serve as a technical advisor on materials to the function team
* Manage time effectively to drive project initiatives and management
