Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with experience in a kitchen environment. This role involves assisting in meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
* Serve meals to residents when required, ensuring an excellent dining experience.
* Work to HACCP standards
* Follow dietary instructions for service users as defined by their care plan
* Log notes on the electronic care system
* Ensure all food and ingredients are correctly labelled where appropriate
* Be able to confidently liaise with the 'Score on the Doors' team when required
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is highly desirable.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards learning and development.
