We are looking for a confident, results‑driven Freelance Sales Executive to join our team and take the lead on selling advertising space in our magazines, with scope to also bring in work for our wider marketing services.
This is a hands‑on role where you will not only write and send outreach emails and follow up warm leads, but also speak directly with advertisers by phone, and get them booked in for advertising space.
You will be the first point of contact for many potential advertisers, so you'll need to be comfortable building rapport, answering initial questions, and guiding them through the process to secure their booking.
Key Responsibilities
Advertising sales for magazines
* Write and send engaging emails to prospective advertisers.
* Call warm leads generated through Meta Ads Manager and other campaigns.
* Handle sales calls directly with interested businesses, explaining our magazine reach and packages, and taking them through to a confirmed booking.
* Follow up leads in a timely manner and keep conversations moving.
Tracking & updates
* Keep clear records of outreach, conversations, and confirmed bookings.
* Provide regular updates on sales activity and pipeline progress.
Essential skills and experience
* Proven experience in sales, telesales or lead generation.
* Confident and professional phone manner, able to build rapport quickly.
* Strong written communication skills for clear and engaging emails.
* Organised and able to manage your own workload and pipeline.
* Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently.
* Ability to follow up leads and handle basic objections effectively.
* Comfortable with email, spreadsheets, and basic CRM tools, such as HubSpot.
Desirable skills and experience
* Experience in magazine, media, or advertising sales.
* Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager or similar lead‑generation tools.
* Knowledge of the Hampshire business community or similar local markets.
