Are you a proactive labourer looking to get in on the ground floor of a major new project? We are recruiting for a reliable individual to assist with the initial site setup of a commercial job in York. This is a key role during the mobilisation phase, requiring someone who can follow instructions precisely and help establish a safe, organised site from day one.
The Role:
You will be working directly with the site management team to transform a vacant plot into a fully operational commercial construction site. Your duties will include:
Assisting with the installation of site hoarding, fencing, and pedestrian barriers.
Helping to set up site offices, welfare facilities, and storage units.
Marking out walkways and ensuring clear access for incoming plant and machinery.
Receiving and organising initial deliveries of materials and equipment.
General heavy lifting and site clearance to ensure a clean start for all trades.
What You'll Need:
Valid CSCS card (Essential).
Previous experience on commercial construction sites.
Experience in site setup or "enabling works" is highly desirable.
Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel toe boots).
A strong, proactive work ethic-this phase moves fast!
