Organisation Yorkshire Rugby Academy Salary £30-35,000 per annum Location Yorkshire based Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 15 May 2025 Job Description Yorkshire Rugby Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Foundation Phase Manager & Coach Developer to lead our pathway entry point and develop the skills of our coaching workforce. This pivotal role will foster a positive learning environment for both players and coaches, ensuring the highest standards of development within our academy structure. Due to the nature of the role, you must be flexible in your commitment as it will include working evenings and weekends.
Some key responsibilities include:
Foundation Phase Management: Oversee the Foundation Phase, ensuring the effective delivery of training programs that align with the Academy’s vision and objectives. To include staff recruitment, session planning, logistical coordination, and administrative support.
Coach Development: Design and implement a progressive coach development framework, offering mentoring, support, and practical resources to enhance coaching practice within both the Foundation Phase and the wider rugby community.
Talent Identification: Collaborate with academy staff to identify and nurture young talent, ensuring a robust pipeline of players for the academy.
Collaboration: Work closely with other academy staff, local clubs, schools, and colleges to promote rugby and create opportunities for young players.
Performance Monitoring: Track, assess, and review player and coach development, using feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
Curriculum Delivery: Deliver a structured, age-appropriate player development curriculum that prioritises core skills, teamwork, and positive behaviours.
Actively collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of the current strategic, business and operational plans.
Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of the RFU, including the promotion of our culture and core values – This Rose Means Everyone: Put The Team First, Shape The Future, Respect Each Other.
Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation.
