The Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff is a successful 4-star deluxe hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel offers 129 guestrooms, a 120-seater brasserie style restaurant, a busy bar, modern meeting, and event facilities including our unique Kuku event space and luxurious Laguna Health & Spa. Privately owned we operate as a franchise hotel within the Park Plaza Hotel Group and employ a diverse team of up to 150.
Reporting to the Hotel General Manager you will oversee all people-related functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training & development, managing payroll, & benefits, maintaining employee relations, and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding: Managing the full hiring lifecycle, from sourcing to integration.
Training & Development: Identifying needs, planning and coordinating learning programs with heads of department and delivering inhouse training sessions.
Performance Management: Developing and implementing performance review systems.
Employee Relations: Fostering a positive work environment, handling grievances and overseeing disciplinary actions.
Compensation & Benefits: Manage payroll through time and attendance system & payroll agency and monitor payroll budget.
Strategic Partnership: Advising senior leadership on HR matters.
Compliance: Ensuring adherence to current legislation and regulations.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience as a HR Manager, in a hotel or hospitality customer focused environment.
Experience in recruitment, onboarding and driving employee engagement.
Able to plan and implement hotel training and development initiatives.
Experience of payroll and cost management.
Ability to develop & build relationships and influence across all levels of the business.
Thorough understanding of employment law and related legislation.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
Educated to degree level however with GCSE Maths and English, minimum grade C or equivalent.
CIPD Level 5 Diploma is essential.
