Quality Manager
to join our well-established client based in Tipton, on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior role in a high-integrity, regulated manufacturing environment, with real opportunities for career development and progression.

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (39 hours per week)
Salary:
£50,000 - £60,000

Day-to-day duties:
As a Quality Manager, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Lead the quality function across project and operational domains, including dimensional control, NDT, weld quality, and quality engineering
Develop, implement, and maintain a fully integrated
Quality Management System (QMS)
aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and industry requirements
Prepare, review, and maintain
Project Quality Plans (PQPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), welding quality documentation, and Lifetime Records
Conduct and lead
root cause investigations, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure calibration, traceability, and maintenance of all quality-critical equipment and gauges
Provide hands-on quality support to production and engineering teams, promoting a “right first time” culture
Participate in daily SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) review meetings and take prompt actions to prevent production disruption
Support the setup of a new manufacturing facility, including embedding quality processes in facility layout, line design, and inspection checkpoints
Maintain audit readiness, lead internal audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
Represent the quality function during client audits, inspections, and cross-functional project reviews
Mentor and coach the quality team and operational staff in quality standards and behaviours
Essential skills:
Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or related subject
Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer in regulated, high-integrity manufacturing environments (aerospace, defence, or similar)
Strong knowledge of
ISO 9001, ISO 3834, EN 1090, and industry quality frameworks
Lead/Internal Auditor experience in ISO 9001
Experience generating and managing NCRs, QC grading, and Lifetime Records
Hands-on experience in dimensional inspection, NDT, welding quality, and quality system implementation
Strong practical problem-solving skills and use of Lean Six Sigma or other structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, FMEA, SPC, 5S, 7W)
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to secure
BPSS and SC clearance
(conditional requirement)
Desirable experience:
Experience in set-up of new manufacturing facilities and QMS rollout
Membership of a professional body (e.g., CQI) or willingness to attain
Engineering qualification desirable
Training
Full industry-related training will be provided, with ongoing support throughout.
