A long-established business in the hospitality sector is looking for a HR Manager to cover maternity for up to 15 months, managing a small HR team.
Your new role
1. Lead and oversee the full recruitment process
2. Partner with managers to deliver professional, timely, and practical advice on all employment law and HR matters.
3. Lead, support, and develop a team of four HR professionals.
4. Guide and support the team with employee relations matters including performance, conduct, capability, and absence.
5. Oversee investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and grievance processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, andpliance.
6. Develop, update, and embed effective HR policies and procedures that promote wellbeing and support high performance.
7. Manage and review employment contracts and training agreements.
8. Oversee absence management procedures, ensuring consistent application and timely intervention, including liaison with Occupational Health.
9. Analyse employee turnover data and implement initiatives to drive improved retention.
10. Maximise the use of the HR & Payroll system to streamline processes, resolve issues, and enhance reporting capabilities.
11. Produce monthly HR reports and insights using system data.
12. Support training, talent development, and the creation of clear career pathways across the business.
What you'll need to succeed
13. Have solid experience managing the full employee lifecycle, ideally in a medium‑sized, fast-paced organisation.
14. Bring experience of leading a small team.
15. Be organised, proactive, and solutions‑focused, with a positive “can‑do” approach.
16. Have strong, up‑to‑date employment law knowledge and the confidence to provide clear advice onplex issues.
17. Be experienced in creating and implementing HR policies andfortable using people data to inform decision‑making.
