We are recruiting a Cook in Charge at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Working hours: 25 Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only (38 Weeks) Location: Trinity Fields School & Resource Centre Team: School Catering This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation. We pay an attractive salary of £17,104.38 - £17,962.49 and offer access to training and development opportunities. As Cook in Charge, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality catering service and leading the day-to-day running of your kitchen. Working with the support of your supervisor/manager, you'll plan and prepare appetising meals using standard menus and recipes, ensuring excellent presentation, portion control and food quality. You'll manage ordering and stock control for food, cleaning and sundry supplies, keep accurate records (including cash/ticket handling), and complete stock takes throughout the year. You'll also organise, supervise, induct and train catering staff, maintaining outstanding hygiene and health & safety standards. Just as importantly, you'll build positive relationships with customers and resolve any queries or complaints promptly and professionally. For the role, we ask that you have: A Level 2 Qualification in Food Safety The ability to communicate effectively. Safeguarding Children/POVA training.
