We’re looking for a Catering Manager to lead our catering team at Dougie Mac, based at two hospice sits which operate 365 days a year service. We provide high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, visitors and volunteers. You’ll have the opportunity to use your culinary and leadership skills in a rewarding environment that truly makes a difference. About the Role You’ll lead the kitchen team (staff and volunteers), manage budgets, and ensure our kitchen operates safely and efficiently to the highest hygiene and food safety standards. You’ll also be responsible for designing and preparing fresh, nutritious meals that meet a variety of dietary needs – from patients with specialist requirements and staff lunches. Key Responsibilities Oversee kitchen rotas and manage a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations. Take the lead on audits and improvement plans in line with governance expectations. Manage stock levels, ordering and maintain supplier relationships to ensure value for money. Work with clinical teams to ensure patients’ dietary needs are met. Plan menus and cook meals fresh daily for patients, staff, and visitors. What We’re Looking For Professional Cookery Level 3 or equivalent in Catering. Level 2 Food Hygiene At least 3 years’ experience in catering (with 1 years at a senior level). Strong leadership and communication skills. Experience of managing budgets, audits and stock control. A hands-on approach with the ability to cook to a high standard. A flexible, organised and proactive mindset. Willingness to work some weekends as required. Why Join Dougie Mac?
